Bhaktapur : Beautiful city which has the best preserved palace courtyards and old city center in Nepal and is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its rich culture , temples , and wood , metal and stone artworks is one of the the most visited city by tourists.
According to the sources, in comparision to other months, November is known as the most visited month by the tourist in the overall year. Usually, the number of tourist increases in October, November and December. “most of the tourist, who has arrived in the month of October and November returns back in December for Christmas”- said the chief of Bhaktapur Tourism Development.
By analyzing the data from Bhaktapur Municipality, the number of tourist has been increased by the last year. According to the data of last year in the month of September and October, 11032 tourist has visited Bhaktapur. But according to this years data, 11367 tourist has already visited Bhaktapur. 5563 number of tourist have arrived from south asia and china , in September. Likewise, 6839 are from the third nation.
The chief of Bhaktapur municipality also explained that, the number of tourist has increased in October than in September. But according to the assessed data from all the counter of Bhaktapur municipality the total number of tourist hasn’t been confirmed. Most of the tourist has been observed in Bhaktapur on November and December.
Bhaktapur municipality has been collecting the funds from the foreigners. The foreigners from south asia and china pays Rs.500 while the citizens of third nation pays Rs 1000 or more. The local workers has build 14 counter for the collection of fund. The collected funds are considered as the main incoming source of Bhaktapur municipality. Sunil Prajapati, the chief of Bhaktapur municipality plans to conduct some program this year for the development of tourism industry in Bhaktapur. He mentioned that, the tourist spends only 3 to 4 hours , that is why bhaktapur is laying quite backward in tourism sector.
Chief Prajapati also adds, he will be giving more priority to the nightstay program for the development tourism. Local marketers explained that increasement of tourist hasn’t affect there sells due to unresponsible guidance they have been facing a lot of lost.
